How to Look Good at Coachella: Whitney Port’s Best Style and Beauty Secrets

If you’re one of the lucky ones speeding off to Coachella’s second weekend, you’re no doubt aware that the festival’s as much about A+ street style as it is about awesome music. We’ve long loved Whitney Port’s effortlessly bohemian flair, so naturally we turned to the reality star-turned-designer for a how-to. Here, her secrets for looking good all weekend long—whether it’s swapping out your flower crown for a fishtail braid or knowing exactly what to pack.

First things first: how to stay chic in the heat.
No one wants to spend the day dealing with sweat, so Whitney’s trick is to pop a deodorant in her purse (try
Secret Clinical Strength Clear Gel). As for the sun? “I love Quay sunglasses because they are funky, comfortable, and affordable,” she says. “I am not to be trusted with expensive sunglasses!”

What about that insanely dewy complexion?
Whitney relies on a combination of
Bare Minerals Mineral Veil and Illamasqua Cream Blusher to get her glow. The mix of mattifying products and cream finishes is the key to keeping shine at bay without making skin look too flat. Her other secret is plenty of mini products: “I keep the travel-sized Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo in my bag for a quick boost of volume throughout the day.” After air-drying her hair, she hits her roots with another application of dry shampoo for that coveted, ever-so-slightly beachy texture.

But really, it’s all about the bag.
If you can’t imagine making it through the entire festival with a scant few products, fret not. “I usually carry a big bag—right now, I’m loving the
Stella & Dot tote bag,” Whitney says. The reason? It’s perfect for filling to the brim with the rest of her essentials! “I always have the Lucas PawPaw Ointment, Honest Hand Sanitizer, and Rodial Glam Balm Hand,” she says. We wholeheartedly recommend that you bring all of the above.

As for the thing Whitney’s looking forward to the most, post-Coachella? “A manicure and a pedicure,” she admits. “My feet are in desperate need of some TLC!”
