There’s one thing we know to be absolutely true aboutAlexa Chung: We want to copy everything she does. From her signaturecat eyeto heroffbeat, irreverent style, the girl’s got her look down pat. We evenread her new bookin the hopes of achieving Alexa-like coolness. (To no avail, naturally.)
But even the style icons of the world have trouble in front of the makeup mirror. “I’m an eyeliner fanatic,” Alexa says. “When I discovered the Eyeko liner, I was like, ‘This is it! This is the one that works!'”
And, lucky for us, this is going to lead to really good things for the smoky eye. “It’s so flattering on everybody! But I can’t be bothered with powder shadows that you have to blend, blend, and blend,” she says. “I’d rather just draw it on and smudge.”
So, naturally, Eyeko went to work, whipping up a product easy and quick enough for Alexa to use. The result is called “Me & My Shadow,” a waterproof (that’s right! No creases or smudges!) “shadow liner.” It’s basically your traditional eye color pen, except the other end has a brush that makes it super easy to quickly smudge and diffuse the color. Plus, other creamy formulas aren’t designed for long-wear, so they tend to disappear quickly. Not this one.
“I use the taupe all over the lid, and then underneath, I just dot it along the lower lash line to smoke it out,” explains Lisa Eldridge, Alexa’s makeup artist (and the chicest woman on YouTube).
